The audio launch of Hansika's long-delayed Maha, directed by UR Jameel was held last evening in Chennai. The event was attended by many popular names in the film industry. Speaking on the occasion, Thambi Ramaiah, who has done a supporting role in the film, stated, "I would call Hansika that foundation of the film as its only after she okayed the script, did we all get on board. Usually, we have seen male actors bringing forth the directors, but with Maha, Hansika has proved that even lead actresses can go do that. "
Taking about her performance in the film, Thambi Ramaiah said, "I had always thought that Hansika was this bubbly actress with a sprightly smile, but she broke all the stereotypes attached to her with her performance in the film. We supporting actors, tend to work a lot with the lead actresses, and I could see the transformation of Hansika right in front of my eyes."
Silambarasan TR plays an extended cameo in the film. "Suriya might have created ripples with his 3-minute-cameo in Kamal Haasan's Vikram, but in Maha, Silambarasan has acted for 40 minutues. Every element in this film will appeal to moneygoers and it will not turn out to be a waste of time, he said.
Commenting on how actors need to support each other in their efforts, Aari said, "People ask me what was my connection in the film. I had heard the script for the film and was supposed to play a part. Later, I heard that Silambarasan was playing a crucial role in this women-centric film. It's healthy when actors support each other. Vijay, who is one of the biggest stars in the industry, was supported by Vijayakanth sir at one point of time. When Hansika was at the top of her game, she too, had supported Udhayanidhi Stalin in his maiden film, Oru Kal Oru Kannadi, which went on to become a huge hit. And now, Silambarasan has played a crucial role in Hansika's film." Maha will hit screens on July 22.
