Suriya in talks with THIS Malayalam director for his next? Here is what we know

Even as Kanguva did not do much help to Suriya, it looks like the actor is looking to solidly build a strong line-up of films. While we had earlier reported that Suriya will be teaming up with filmmakers Karthik Subbaraj and RJ Balaji for Suriya 44 and Suriya 45 respectively, it looks like the actor will also be shaking hands with Malayalam director Amal Neerad.

Amal Neerad and Suriya to team up?

As per reports, Suriya who is listening to stories, is in talks with director Amal Neerad to do a film. The team is expected to shoot in 40 days, given how Malayalam industries work in quick turnaround time. It is to be noted that it will mark the first time Suriya is teaming up with Amal Neerad who has made films like Varathan, Bheeshma Parvam and Big B.

While an official announcement is yet to be made, it will be interesting to see what type of cinema the duo has to offer. The film is expected to have Malayalam and Tamil actors, with the film set to release in both the languages. With Suriya currently busy with two projects in Tamil, it is safe to assume that the project with Amal Neerad will take time to materialise.

Bougainvillea on OTT: Where to watch the Amal Neerad film

Amal Neerad last directed Bougainvillea, a crime mystery thriller which released in October. The film starred Kunchacko Boban and Jyothirmayi in the lead roles, with Fahadh Faasil playing the cameo appearance. After completing its theatrical run, the film is all set to stream on SonyLIV from December 13. It will also be made available on OTTplay Premium. It will stream in five languages, including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.

Bougainvillea is jointly backed by Jyothirmayi and Kunchacko Boban, under the banners Amal Neerad Productions and Udaya Pictures. It is written by Lajo Jose and Amal Neerad. Sharaf U Dheen, Srindaa, Veena Nandakumar, Shobi Thilakan, Jinu Joseph, Athira Patel, Vijilesh Karayad, Nisthar Sait, and others are also part of the film. Sushin Shyam composed the music score. Anend C Chandran is the director of photography. Vivek Harshan handled the editing.
