Actor Suriya is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Kanguva after a two-year break since Etharkkum Thunindhavan.

Actor Suriya has begun the promotions for his upcoming film Kanguva. The actor will be seen in a full-fledged role in the upcoming film after two years since the release of his 2022 action thriller Etharkkum Thunindhavan. Recently, in an interview, Suriya opened up about the impact of his films like Jai Bhim and Kaakha Kaakha.
In conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, Suriya spoke about his films like Jai Bhim and Kaakha Kaakha. "I truly believe in takeaways. When you go back home, somewhere it should make you think, change you as a person, make you debate and learn something. In 2002 I did Kaakha Kaakha, and 2002-2005 batch of IPS officers, most of them have seen the film. Many have left their jobs to become some officers. I recently met a district magistrate who said he watched the film and became this.”

Suriya added that movies should make people a better version of themselves and mentioned that Jai Bhim brought in a change in law. "Chief Minister was able to watch it, the census was taken and about three lakh lives were changed. Anything can happen in life, but family, friends, and faith are most important in life,” he added.
Kanguva is gearing up for release on November 14. The film is written and directed by filmmaker Siruthai Siva, and backed by Studio Green. Apart from Suriya, the film also stars Hindi actors Bobby Deol and Disha Patani. With a release in around 3500 screens, the film is planned to hit theatres in eight languages, including Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi, English, French, and Spanish.
Actor and Suriya’s brother Karthi is also expected to make an appearance in the film. National Film Award-winning composer Devi Sri Prasad is scoring the music for the film. Prime Video has bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights of the film.
