Suriya-Venky Atluri film launched: Mamitha Baiju to play female lead, all details here

We at OTTplay were the first to reveal that Ayan star Suriya is all set to collaborate with Venky Atluri of Tholi Prema and Lucky Baskhar fame. As reported, the film was launched today in Hyderabad with a traditional, low-key pooja ceremony.

Only a select few from the team were present at the launch. Naga Vamsi of DJ Tillu fame is producing this film on a massive scale, along with Ala Vaikunthapurramloo director Trivikram Srinivas. Suriya has been paid a bomb to star in the film.

The latest update is that GV Prakash, who scored music for Sir and Lucky Baskhar, has been roped in to compose the music for this film as well. One of the sources close to the unit revealed that the shooting of the film will start by the end of this month, and the majority of the filming will take place in Chennai. A special set is also being erected for the same, where 60% of the shoot will occur.

Suriya is very disappointed as his last few films have bombed at the box office. His last film, Retro, is all set for an OTT release soon. As things are not working out, Suriya has turned to a Telugu director to bring him back into the game. Venky Atluri has delivered two blockbusters in his previous outings, which is one of the reasons Suriya gave his nod to him.

Mamitha Baiju will play the female lead, and other details of the film will be revealed soon. Naga Vamsi is pumping big money into this film, which is touted to be a social drama made with a lot of entertainment. Some big names from Tamil cinema will also be seen in key roles.
