It's been a while since the team of Suriya's upcoming film with director Siva, provided an update from the film. The film is currently being referred to as Suriya42 and marks the debut of Bollywood actress Disha Patani in the lead. The last one heard about the film was that the Hindi rights of the film have been acquired by Pen Studios for a whopping amount. There were also speculations about the film's title but none of them have been officially confirmed yet. Anxious Suriya fans have now pasted posters across different parts of the city, asking for an update.

In the meantime, a video of Suriya in Mumbai is doing the rounds on the internet. There are speculations that the team is all set to begin shooting in Chennai from January 21 and the first-look poster is likely to be released only on Suriya's birthday. Suriya42 is being shot on a grand scale and the actor will be seen in a superhero kind of role in the film. Many are also speculating it to be a reincarnation drama.

The title announcement video gave a glimpse of a battlefield and Suriya looking over the same. An eagle is seen perched on his shoulders. Music for the film is by Devi Sri Prasad. This is the first time that Suriya and Siruthai Siva are teaming up for a film.

In the meantime, many fans are upset that the actor didn't wish them on the occasion of Pongal. It's customary of Suriya to either drop a picture of himself or to wish fans on the harvest festival. But Suriya hasn't revealed anything yet since the holidays began. Many have shared their concern on social media.

Suriya also has in his kitty Vetri Maaran's Vaadi Vaasal, which is one of the most anticipated films of the actor. Suriya will be playing a Jallikattu fighter in the film for the first time in his career. He is even rearing two bulls to get into the skin of the character.
