Suriya's fitness regime pays off, he looks ripped in latest photo from Kanguva sets

Tamil superstar Suriya has been busy shooting his upcoming movie Kanguva. The film is Suriya's most expensive movie to date and his first pan-Indian release. A new photo from the sets of the movie has recently surfaced online, featuring Suriya posing with a crew member. Fans have been quick to notice the actor's impressive fitness and toned physique in the image.

Kanguva is a period drama where Suriya plays a warrior. The actor has worked hard to build up his physique to fit the role. Earlier, Studio Green, the producer of the big-budget movies released the video of Suriya working out at the gym.

Kanguva, which was tentatively titled Suriya 42, caught the imagination of the audience soon after filmmakers unveiled the movie's motion poster. And it's said that the movie has already generated a whopping over Rs 500 crore in terms of non-theatrical revenue . 

Earlier, KE Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green revealed the revenue that the movie fetched from the sale of its digital rights , describing it as a new benchmark for Tamil cinema. 

"We have sold the digital rights, of just south Indian versions, for Rs 80 crore to Amazon Prime Video. This is a big benchmark for Tamil cinema. No other movie has made such kind of a business before this," Gnanavel said. 

The teaser for Kanguva is now in the editing stage, with plans to launch it simultaneously in 10 different languages in June. The movie is being shot in Kodaikanal, with the cast and crew working tirelessly despite rain to create epic scenes, including intense war sequences.

Dhananjayan, CEO and producer at Studio Green, said, "That film will make a dent in Tamil cinema in terms of budget and presentation."

Kanguva is directed by Siva and being produced by Studio Green. The film's release was initially planned for October/November 2022, but the production team decided to push it back to early 2024, citing a desire not to rush the production and risk compromising its quality.
