The ballots of the 94th Academy Awards have been counted, and the names are sealed, as per the official tweet ahead of tonight’s Oscar announcement. At this cliff-hanging hour, tweets of host Jacqueline Coley have been rolling all over the internet, especially among the Indians.

The Rotten Tomatoes editor has raised hopes about the Suriya starrer Jai Bhim, hinting that it might make it to the Award nominations. With only hours left for the announcement, Jacqueline’s reply to Columnist Kyle Buchanan has created an instant buzz. She was asked about the nomination that could provoke the biggest reaction from her, to which she tweeted back, “Jai Bhim” for Best Picture. Trust me on this one.”

Undoubtedly, the tweet has triggered a huge excitement all over the Indian entertainment industry, so much so that even the makers of the started replying to her tweet. With the members of the industry expecting an Oscar nod, her tweets went viral within minutes, including the one where Jai Bhim co-producer Rajasekar is thanking her.

Taking into account the seriousness of the situation, Jacqueline made it clear in another tweet that she has no idea about the nomination though. Although she loved the movie and would cheer if it won, she doesn’t hold any ‘inside information’, according to her tweet. She also closed her DMs later, as the buzz was ‘blowing up’ the social media.

The TJ Gnanavel directorial has been a matter of discussion, since its release. Everyone has their fingers crossed for Jai Bhim as the courtroom drama had also featured on the list of Best Picture on IMDb. The movie is based on true events of a sparking communal issue that took place in Tamil Nadu. It is currently available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
