Suriya's last film, Retro, ended as a big flop at the box office and disappointed fans in a big way. It has been quite some time since the Ayan star delivered a proper hit, and to make a comeback, he is finally making his Telugu debut.

We, at OTTplay, have already revealed that Suriya has signed Sir and Lucky Baskhar fame Venky Atluri's next, which is being produced by Jersey, DJ Tillu, and MAD 2 fame Naga Vamsi under his Sithara Entertainments banner.

Well, the latest update is that the film has gone on floors in Hyderabad today. Some key solo scenes featuring Suriya are being canned by Venky in a private studio in Hyderabad. The yet-to-be-titled film is a social drama and will showcase Suriya in a completely new avatar, as per reports.

The heroine of the film is yet to be finalised, and very soon, the makers will announce the female lead. GV Prakash will compose the music for this film. Venky Atluri is known for his hard-hitting films, and with Lucky Baskhar, he proved that he can work across different genres.

Suriya gets big bucks for his Telugu debut

We at OTTplay have already revealed that Suriya has been paid a hefty fee for his Telugu debut. This film will mostly be shot in Chennai, and a special colony set will be erected for the same. Naga Vamsi, the producer, has delivered back-to-back hits recently and is investing big in the Suriya project. Some noted actors from Tamil and Telugu cinema will play key roles in the film.

Suriya has been putting in strong performances in all his roles, but the directors have failed him of late. Will Venky Atluri give him the much-needed hit? One needs to wait and see.
