After making her mark in the world of OTT with her scintillating performance in the Disney+ Hotstar original web series Aarya, Sushmita Sen is back in the news again with her new project. The actress has been roped in by producer Deepak Mukut and Mansi Bagla for their upcoming untitled project, which is a biographical film.
Deepak said in a statement, "We are very thrilled to have Sushmita Sen on board for our upcoming film, which is a biopic. She has always been a force to be reckoned with when it comes to her skills on screen."
The producer also hinted that the former Miss Universe 1994 "completely fits the bill of the protagonist of the biopic."
The makers are therefore looking forward to having a great collaborative experience with the actress.
The OTT show Aarya, in which she played the title role of Aarya Sareen, not only received huge appreciation from the audience and critics alike, but also the first season of the show, released in 2020, bagged a nomination at the International Emmy Awards for the Best Drama Series.
The untitled film will be produced by Deepak Mukut under his production house, Soham Rockstar Entertainment, along with Mansi Bagla of Mini Films and Sibu Samuel of Bungalow No 84.
Mukut and Bagla have previously collaborated on the Vikrant Massey and Radhika Apte-starrer Forensic. They also have another film titled Sirf Ek Friday under production.
Sirf Ek Friday marks the acting debut of Avitesh Shrivastava, son of the late music composer Aadesh Shrivastava.
The producer is excited to be teaming up again with Bagla because he feels that a successful professional working relationship is very important for every individual to grow and bring about a change in the world of storytelling. He also expressed his desire to collaborate more with like-minded people to encourage new-age content.
The makers are yet to unveil further details of the film. Meanwhile, the film is currently in the pre-production stage with the rest of the casting underway.
The film is likely to go on the floor by the end of this year.
