Suzhal The Vortex Season 2 OTT release date: When and where to watch the Pushkar-Gayatri created crime thriller

In January this year, it was reported that the second season of the Tamil crime thriller season Suzhal: The Vortex had a streaming date in sight. The series, created by Pushkar and Gayatri and set against the fictional village Sambaloor, with Kathir, Parthiban R, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Shriya Reddy, among others on the cast, was said to be returning on February 21, but this had not been confirmed by the makers or the streaming platform.

Suzhal: The Vortex Season 2 to drop on Amazon Prime Video on...

A little while ago, Pushkar and Gayatri took to social media to announce the return of Suzhal: The Vortex. Season 2. Thanking audiences for all the love showered on Season 1, the creative team wrote that Suzhal: The Vortex Season 2 would be on Amazon Prime Video on February 28.

In the official synopsis of Season 2, a renowned lawyer and prominent activist, who had supported Nandini's (Aishwarya Rajesh) defense, is found murdered. Sakkarai (Kathir) is called upon to assist the mourning family. Set against the colorful backdrop of the grand Ashtakaali Festival in the charming town of Kaalipattanam, the investigation slowly unravels long-hidden secrets that cast a dark shadow over the present.

Directed by Bramma G and Anucharan Murugaiyan, Season 1 of Suzhal The Vortex revolved around a police investigation into a missing person case. The story is set amid a community that worships Goddess Angalamman and celebrates the Mayana Kollai festival over 10 days every year. It is in these 10 days that the story – of kidnapping, arson, childhood trauma, etc – unfolds.

Season 1 had 8 episodes of 40-50 minutes each, so, Season 2 is expected to follow suit. The show, which also featured the likes of Harish Uthaman, Prem Kumar, Elango Kumaravel, and Nivedithaa Sathish, will have Malayalam actors Lal and Manjima Mohan, as well as Monisha Blessy and Samyuktha Vishwanathan, joining the cast. Sam CS returns as music director.
