Swagatam, a Gujarati thriller-romantic comedy is all set to release first on OTT platform ShemarooMe on May 20, before it hits theatres.

Directed by Neeraj Joshi, the film revolves around a family that is harbouring dark secrets. This twisted tale is an entertaining watch where the madness of its characters will seem normal by the end. In the midst of all the chaos in this dysfunctional family, a love story begins.

Swagatam stars Malhar Thakar, debutante Katha Patel, Chetan Dhanani, Jay Upadhyay, Vandana Pathak and Ojas Rawal.  Malhar, who was last seen in Viral Shah’s Golkeri, says, “Amidst the uncertainty and tough times, it becomes all the more important for artists to create a safe and entertaining environment. The movie is as crazy as it can get, and I am confident the audiences will enjoy watching it at the comfort and safety of their homes.”

Ojas, who is also the host of the popular Gujarati talk show Colors Cinema, commented that though the situation is unprecedented, he is elated over the digital release of Swagatam. “Shooting for this unique, first-of-its-kind thriller comedy was an absolute fun experience,” he says.

Swagatam will be ShemarooMe’s second exclusive release. The first was Vaat Vaat Ma, a Gujarati webseries, that was released on the platform last week.
