Swastika Mukherjee chooses a sleeveless ‘belauj’ in her signature style

Swastika Mukherjee lives on her terms. She is outspoken and candid about her personal life. She combats the trolls on social media with grace. And then Swastika’s choice of attire has always been at the center of discussion. She is known to be a confident woman in any attire.

Just like Vidya Balan’s saree collection in Bollywood, Swastika’s collection of sarees is also a matter of discussion in Tollywood. Her choice of blouses is also a hot topic of discussion. Swastika is not scared to pose for a photo shoot without any makeup. But she was repeatedly attacked for her body parts.

Swastika is frequently trolled if she shares a photo wearing a sleeveless blouse. She recently went to a book launch wearing a black sleeveless blouse. She shared several photos and wrote, “How do I care if my arms are fat? If I wish to wear a sleeveless belauj (blouse), I will. And this is not a belauj. This is my daughter's top.”

Her daughter is grown now. Swastika wore her daughter's top as a blouse. She further wrote, “We women are scared...the hand is ours, the thought is ours...hence we have to decide what the belauj’s size will be.” 

Swastika once told Hindustan Times Bangla about trolling, “Amidst the worldwide changes, we hoped that our opinions have also changed. It changed but went downward. If today a girl, not only me but any girl, goes to a pub like a man, wears shorts, or smokes, she will be questioned. But it is meaningless to be silent. You have to protest. Otherwise, there is no use being on social media.”
