Tollywood knows her as an outspoken person. Swastika Mukherjee is open about her romantic life, divorce, or her child. She was involved in multiple controversies in her long film career but faced them courageously. She established herself as a successful actress in Mumbai also. Apart from being a star, her acting skill is also of high stature.
Swastika was married to Pramit Sen, son of popular Rabdindrasangeet singer Sagar Sen, in 1998. It was an arranged marriage. However, it did not work out and Swastika left her in-law’s place with her child. She single-handedly brought up her daughter Anwesha, who is now studying abroad. Marrying at a young age, and then divorcing – does she regret it? RJ Stuti asked her in the show Aur Batao Ji.
Swastika said, “I had an arranged marriage. But I have no regrets. When I think about the possibility of a life without that marriage, I realise that Anwesha would not have happened in my life then. Then my existence would be nothing. I am grateful to the world that I got her. I would get destroyed without her. Undoubtedly, there is a struggle in my job.”
Swastika’s relationship with Anwesha is friendly. A number of times she said that her daughter is her power and courage. Swastika went through lots of hassle due to her divorce legalities, but she overcame everything. Swastika shared a heartfelt post last week, on the occasion of Anwesha's 23rd birthday.
Swastika started her career with serials. She struggled hard, in spite of being the daughter of Santu Mukhopadhyay. She worked both in commercial and art films. She recently appeared in the Netflix series Qala, where her character as the mother of Tripti Dimri was praised.
