As an actress, Swastika Mukherjee will get a perfect ten from many people. However, she is often dragged into inadvertent controversies. At the same time, she does not mince words when it comes to taking a stand over social issues.

OIn Monday, Swastika wrote on Facebook, “Namaskar. Is there any copyright of the word ‘line’? If we utter it, people get judgemental. Suppose I say that the stars are arranged in a line and staring at us, or the line of palm trees, then also people are making my life hell. But I am not the only one, I heard it is happening with many others.”

Swastika further wrote, “But the word ‘line’ can have only one meaning–If the matter is confined to the cleavage or a saree’s pallu, then it will be problematic. Please read the entire text before charging me. Thank you.”

A few days back, veteran actress Mamata Shankar made headlines for her comments on the styles of wearing sarees. She made some remarks about wearing a saree with the pallu lowered, or flaunting cleavages. It caused a huge controversy and Swastika also took part in it. She condemned Mamata Shankar’s words.

On the other hand, Sreelekha Mitra supported Mamata Shankar. She wrote that Mamata Shankar’s words were misinterpreted. Sreelekha shared a post on Sunday where she was seen sitting with Mamata Shankar. She wrote in the caption, “We wear saree like this.” Was Swastika’s post in reference to that issue? The net world is confused.
