Swastika Mukherjee to play ‘Promoter Boudi’ in her next film

Swastika Mukherjee has played many out-of-the-box characters, including a common housewife, a mother, and a mafia don. In a new project, the ace actress will now portray the character of a promoter. Here is a lowdown on her new film. 

Swastika will play the lead in a brand new film, Promoter Boudi. The film is directed by Shaurya Deb. Rajatabha Dutta will play another lead. The story is regarding the clash between two promoters. Satyam Bhattacharya, Sreema Bhattacharya, and Subhrajit Dutta will be seen in other important roles in the film. The shooting took place in Kolkata. 

Regarding the film, Shaurya told Ei Samay, “When we talk of a promoter, the picture that we common people see is of a man wearing white clothes and a golden chain. But not many women are seen in the profession, nor do we imagine such things. Hence there will be surprises for the audience. The film will also show what situations Swastika faced after becoming a promoter.” 

Swastika will be seen in Srijit Mukherji's upcoming film Tekka, too. Tekka will be released this Puja. Dev and Rukmini Maitra played the lead roles there. However, it is not yet sure when Promoter Boudi will be released. However, it is confirmed that the film is coming to the box office in 2024.
