Swatantrya Veer Savarkar clashed with Madgaon Express upon its theatrical release in March this year. Randeep Hooda and Ankita Lokhande's film received mixed reviews from both critics and audiences alike. Two months after its theatrical release, the movie got its OTT release today (May 28), on the 141st birth anniversary of freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. As the film is now streaming on ZEE5 and OTTplay Premium, Randeep shared an exciting and intriguing glimpse of the film.

While sharing it on Instagram, along with ZEE5, Hooda wrote, "Action speaks louder than words and his, spoke the loudest! Watch India’s Most Dangerous Revolutionary’s unforgettable journey on his 141st Birth Anniversary, only on ZEE5. SwatantryaVeerSavarkar streaming now, only on ZEE5 (sic)."

Meanwhile, Randeep was recently honoured by Swatantrya Veer Savarkar Purushkar. At the ceremony, the actor said, "I am thankful to every person who is a part of this event and to Swatantrya Veer Savarkar Smarak for considering me worthy of this award. While researching for the film about his life, I realised that one story, one contribution, one sacrifice, and one life dedicated to a single motive had not reached millions of Indians."
Randeep further mentioned that he made this film with a sense of anger that Veer Savarkar's words, thoughts, and life history should be known to people. That said, the actor not only acted in the movie but also directed and co-produced it. Despite its poor box office performance, Hooda said he recovered the amount invested in this movie.
