Nikhil Siddhartha, who was seen in the multilingual action thriller Spy this year, is working on multiple ambitious projects in his career - Swayambhu and The India House. He’s already undergone a huge physical makeover for the former, a period drama, where he plays a warrior. Samyuktha is cast alongside the Happy Days actor in the film written and directed by Bharat Krishnamachari.
After extensive pre-production, Nikhil was off to Vietnam a few weeks ago to prep up for the film. The month-long session had him training in everything from weapons to martial arts and horse riders, from the most acclaimed stuntmen and teams across the globe (in Saigon). The actor is now returning to India after a challenging schedule and confirmed the news on social media this evening.
“Cya Vietnam.. 30 days of Martial arts and Madness. Now Back to India and shooting,” the actor tweeted, sharing a picture of him posing in the middle of a lively street. The film promises a complete image-change for Nikhil after dabbling with a series of thrillers. Swayambhu, produced by Bhuvan and Sreekar under Pixel Studios, is presented by Tagore Madhu. Ravi Basrur is the music director.
The actor has consistently posted images from his training session in Vietnam on social media, that serve as a testimony to the efforts he’s putting into the film. Authenticity in the storytelling and the characterisation are among the most important factors for a movie to click with audiences and the budding star is out to reinvent himself. Swayambhu is all the more special - the 20th film in Nikhil’s career.
Leading technician Manoj Paramahamsa cranks the camera for the film while M Prabhaharan is the production designer. Vasudev Muneppagari writes the dialogues. Recently, the star’s hit film Karthikeya 2 completed the first release anniversary (of its arrival on OTT), registering over 700 million views on ZEE5.
