Silambarasan revealed in a statement that doctors had detected bleeding in the director's stomach

Veteran actor, producer and director T Rajendhar has been hospitalised. Though the news about his hospitalisation was kept under wraps, it got leaked yesterday on social media. Now Silambarasan himself has released a statement about his father's health condition. He shared the same on his social media handle.
According to the statement, T Rajendhar has complained of chest pain and was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai. Doctors had detected bleeding in his stomach and had advised the family to undergo advanced treament. Keeping his health condition in mind, the family has now taken TR abroad for the advanced treament. The statement also said that TR was conscious and feeling well. STR stated that he was confident that his father's health would improve and thanked everyone for their prayers and wishes for his speedy recovery.
On the film front, Silambarasan is busy shooting for Pathu Thala. The film is directed by Obeli N Krishna of Sillunnu Oru Kadhal fame, and is a remake of the Kannada film Mufti. Mufti (2017) is a neo-noir action thriller, which was directed by Narthan, marking his debut.The star cast included Shiva Rajkumar, Srimurali and Shanvi Srivasatava. The plot revolved around a police officer, who takes on a underworld don played by Shivanna. Interestingly, Mufti was one of the highest grossing films of Kannada star Shiva Rajkumar. In the Tamil version, STR will share screen space with Gautham Karthik and Priya Bhavani Shankar. Interestingly, this is the first time that STR and Gautham Karthik are coming together for a film.
Silambarasan has a slew of films in his kitty, including Gautham Menon's Vendhu Thanindhadhu Kaadu, a cameo in Hansika's Maha and Corona Kumar. He was last seen in Maanaadu, directed by Venkat Prabhu. The film, set in a time loop, went on to become a hit at the box office.
