Taapsee Pannu and Tahir Raj Bhasin starrer Looop Lapeta gets a direct OTT release

Netflix and Sony Pictures Films India, in collaboration with Ellipsis Entertainment, have announced the release of Looop Lapeta, a comedy thriller starring Taapsee Pannu and Tahir Raj Bhasin. The film, a race against time and a girlfriend on a mission to save her boyfriend from a sticky situation, promises viewers an exciting ride as the plot unfolds and the lovers' actions trigger a series of events, both fortunate and unlucky.

Looop Lapeta is the Hindi-language remake of Tom Tykwer's celebrated cult classic Run Lola Run and Aakash Bhatia's directorial feature debut, produced by Sony Pictures Films India, Ellipsis Entertainment, and Aayush Maheshwari. The film combines a gripping plot with quirky comedy, making it the ideal entertainer that will have audiences hooked from the start.

While sharing the promo video, Taapsee captioned her post: "Time is ticking, and it is time to run! I can’t wait for all of you to see the film! Coming soon, only on Netflix."

Bhatia, the director and writer of the film, said that there's no way to downplay the exhilaration of making the first film, and Looop Lapeta has exceeded every bit of it. He is very pleased with the shape they have given it. 

Bhatia further said that the film boldly jumps genres, from comedy to thriller to romance, and takes audiences on a rollercoaster ride. His approach has been to keep the emotional core of the story and characters in tact while consciously experimenting with style and form. 

The filmmaker went on to say that Looop Lapeta is the result of a strong ensemble cast and crew. He praised Kasbekar and Tanuj, adding that, as creative collaborators, they made excellent producers on his debut journey. Bhatia is overjoyed that Netflix will be the platform where the rest of the world can watch Looop Lapeta.
