Taapsee Pannu, who has captured the attention of Bollywood with her powerful roles in movies, is set to return with a rather intriguing movie. She is now awaiting the release of Dobaaraa directed by Anurag Kashyap. While fans are now busy trying to boycott a few upcoming movies, the actor has now asked them to boycott her movie as well.
Fans took to social media last week to call for the boycott of Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan. This is starting to feel like a trend as movies such as Dhaakad and Shamshera were also victim to this ahead of their release.
“Please everyone boycott our film Dobaaraa. Agar Aamir Khan aur Akshay Kumar boycott ho sakte hain (If actors like Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar are getting boycotted) then I also want to be in that league. What is this?" Taapsee told Siddharth Kannan as reported by Times of India.
The actor also said that it does not matter if the fans watch their upcoming sci-fi mystery drama but they should go ahead and boycott it. Director Anurag Kashyap also got into the conversation and added that he feels left out of the trend and that he wants #BoycottKashyap to trend on social media.
Dobaaraa, which is reported to be the remake of the Spanish film Mirage, is scheduled to hit theatres on August 19. Apart from Taapsee in the lead, the movie also features Pavail Gulati, Nassar, Rahul Bhat, Himanshi Choudhry and Saswata Chatterjee in important roles.
Laal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan on the other hand, is set to clash at the box office on August 11.
