Taapsee Pannu has called out the boycott culture in Bollywood. The actress feels that it has been happening since so long now that it has become a joke. She also called out people who have been blaming Bollywood for every little thing.

The actress cited the example of how mommies blame the mobile phone for any and everything wrong with their child – right from having insomnia to not having the will to study. She compared that to how people blame every issue upon the film industry these days.

In addition, Anurag Kashyap told Bollywood Bubble, “Baadh bhi aati hai, baarish bhi aati hai, sab film industry ki wajah se hai. (Even floods and rains are because of film industry).”

Taapsee then gave another example – this time in the form of Mary Kom’s dialogue. The one-liner was, “Kabhi kisi ko itna bhi mat darao ki darr hi khatam ho jaaye.”

She shared that the industry has seen the worst and has been targetted ‘in the worst way possible’ and so, nothing matters anymore. “Ab tum har film ko boycott karoge toh woh mazaak ban jayega jo woh mazaak ban gaya hai,” Taapsee said.

The actress has been asking the netizens to boycott her film so that she ‘doesn’t feel left out.’ Anurag added to that by stating that till someone doesn’t demand a boycott on a film, that movie has been ignored and doesn’t hold any value. The filmmaker also joked that he has faced so much criticism from within and the outside the industry ever since he set foot that everybody had to ‘stoop down’ to his level.

Taapsee and Anurag have come together for Dobaaraa after Manmarziyan and Saand Ki Aankh. It is to be noted that the latter was only produced by him. The upcoming movie is the Indian adaptation of Spanish thriller-film, Mirage.
