Taapsee Pannu's career has seen her appear in films in multiple languages, star in one that received a National Award, and create successes. The actress recently performed a Shabaash Mithu in a theatrical setting, which did not perform well commercially. Taapsee posted a really touching message to her followers on social media just before the theatrical debut of her second film, Dobaaraa.
Taapsee posted a note from the movie's producers, Ekta Kapoor, Sunir Khetarpal, and director Anurag Kashyap, in which they discuss the satisfaction of creating a "good film" for moviegoers. She added a personal remark to the caption: "The immense love we are getting from our pre-release screenings has made us realise how much we miss the joy of making a good film in the garb of box office success."
The Haseen Dillruba actress added, "Here’s a note from the makers who had the courage to stand by a film like #Dobaaraa and make sure it was released in theatres, a film that doesn’t undermine the intelligence of the audience. We will celebrate the fact that we could make such a film in the times when playing safe is the only option for survival, regardless of what the box office result is. We know we made a film we are proud of. I hope you give us a chance. #Dobaaraa released TOMORROW!"

Dobaaraa, an official adaptation of the 2018 Spanish film Mirage, debuted at the London Film Festival 2022 and has thus far garnered mediocre reviews. Similarly, the film was shown at the Melbourne Indian Film Festival and the Fantasia International Film Festival. Nihit Bhave wrote the script for the movie, which debuts in theatres this Friday.
On the work front, Taapsee was most recently seen in the movie Shabaash Mithu, in which she portrayed Mithali Raj, a former Test and ODI captain of the Indian women's national cricket team. The Viacom18 Studios-produced biographical sports drama film was directed by Srijit Mukherji. She will shortly appear in the Ajay Bahl-directed film Blurr. Additionally, Taapsee will appear in the Rajkumar Hirani-directed movie Dunki, which stars Shah Rukh Khan.
