After one and a half years, Taapsee Pannu's next murder mystery film Haseen Dilruba alongside Vikrant Massey and Harshvardhan Rane is set to premiere on Netflix on July 2. The official trailer of the movie was released today by the streaming platform. While Haseen Dilruba is ready to roll, looks like another upcoming film of the actress is all set to have a direct to OTT release. Apparently, Taapsee’s Rashmi Rocket is also expected to follow the digital route and premiere on Amazon Prime Video.
A report on Peepingmoon.com suggests that Taapsee's sports-drama film Rashmi Rocket might be the lastest on the list to skip theatrical release and walk down the OTT path. Producers Ronnie Screwvala, Neha Anand, and Pranjal Khandhdiya have reportedly sealed the deal with Amazon Prime after discussing the prospects of an OTT release with different streaming platforms for months. The report further adds that the makers of the film have signed a profitable deal and are now looking forward to releasing the film sometime around September.
If the report turns out to be true, the Akarsh Khurana directorial will be Ronnie's second film of this year to have an OTT release after Shobhita Dhulipala starrer Sitara that was recently finalized to stream on Netflix for a direct-to-web release.
Rashmi Rocket is a sport-drama film set in Gujarat and has Taapsee playing the role of a sprinter with dreams of winning international athletic championships. Undergoing rigorous physical training and transformation, the actor has attempted to look convincing in her role as a fast runner. Shot majorly in the white deserts of Rann of Kutch, the movie features Priyanshu Painyuli, Abhishek Banerjee and Supriya Pathak alongside Taapsee Pannu in pivotal roles.
