Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah episode 4136 recap – Popatlal’s reason to run away from his own engagement with Madhubala revealed

Popatlal, who ran away from his own engagement with Madhubala, is now back. He refuses to get engaged with her despite being in love. The real reason for him running away from the wedding venue is revealed, and it has to do with Dr. Hathi’s suggestion after a medical condition was found.

Popatlal is back at his wedding venue

Inspector Chalu Pandey is furious with Popatlal. The groom, who ran away from his wedding, then arrived back at the venue and asked Pandey to not search for him any further. Pandey had tied up the men as well as women of Gokuldham society. He asks Pandey to let the men go and punish him instead. Pandey then asks Patil to do the deed. The members of the society thank Pandey, which is when the inspector asks why Popatlal ran away from his own engagement. Everybody in the room wonders the same thing.

Popatlal refuses to get engaged to Madhubala

Popatlal refuses to get engaged, thus leaving everyone extremely shocked. This calls for reactions from Madhubala, Lalu, Basundi, Jethalal, Pandey, Champak chacha, Bhide, Bawri, Madhavi, Sodhis, Taarak and Anjali Mehta, Iyer-Babita, Komal, Bagha, Abdul and Natu Kaka. On hearing so, Madhubala almost faints.

Popatlal still in love with Madhubala but cannot marry her

Pandey demands an explanation. Basundi asks Popatlal if he likes some other woman, and Madhubala questions if he doesn’t like her anymore. He confirms that he is in love with Madhubala but cannot marry her. His reaction leaves Jethalal, Bhide, Iyer, Champak chacha, Komal, Anjali and Basundi confused. The latter even questions why is he refusing to get engaged when he loves Madhubala and their kundalis also match. Jethalal, Sodhis, Taarak, Madhavi, Bawri, Pandey, Babita, Lalu, Bagha, Abdul, Natu Kaka, Iyer, Bhide and Bapuji raise the same question. Bhide then talks about how everything was okay just a while back and Bapuji questions what happened to refuse his own engagement. Sodhi asks for an explanation too, which is when Dr. Hathi enters the scene.

The real reason

Dr. Hathi explains how he tricked Popatlal and Madhubala for a blood test, and found out she has Thelesmia minor. This is the reason he asked Popatlal not to get engaged. He got to know about it after Madhubala kept sneezing all night the night before the engagement, and how when she approached him, he wanted to clear all doubts. On learning about it, Popatlal and Madhubala both are left disheartened. Pandey, Lalu, and Madhubala herself are left confused. Taarak, who understood the term, expressed surprise. Meanwhile, Iyer, Bhide, and Babita remained shocked. Others were left confused on what the terminology actually is and why is it so important. Jethalal ended up making a joke of Madhubala being an actual minor, who is not 18-year-old. Dr. Hathi explained that Thelesmia minor is not a disease but a condition of blood disorder, where the body has fewer blood cells than normal. The same is usually a genetic disorder with 50% chance of it being carried from a parent to the child.
