Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah turns Dharmendra special in the midst of his last movie Ikkis’ theatrical release

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s latest episode has paid a special tribute to legendary actor Dharmendra. Almost every member of the TV show shared a story related to the veteran actor as they remembered the actor with tears in their eyes. This happens in the midst of Dharmendra’s last movie Ikkis release. Co-incidentally, the episode was out when Sunny Deol’s Border 2 song Ghar Kab Aaoge was released. Bapuji, Jethalal and Tapu remember Dharmendra

While Tapu gets to hear the story of Bapuji and Jethalal’s fond memories related to Dharmendra, the tale also includes his late grandmother. Their episode commences with Bapuji showing Dharmendra’s autograph to Tapu. Jethalal joins the club, and so begins the nostalgia. Bapuji recalls how Dharmendra came for a film shoot around his village, and when Bapuji went for an autograph, Dharmendra didn’t even hesitate and signed a letter for his young fan.

Bapuji then talks about Yaadon Ki Baarat, the film where the three brothers get lost in their childhood. “Tujhe pata hai usme woh teen bhai kho jaate hai, aur picture mein Bapuji bhi kho gaye the!,” Jethiya declared. Bapuji explained how his wife could not watch the separation scene and thus, refused to sit through the scene. Worried when she did not come back, Bapuji went to search for his wife. Since Bapuji had no idea that his wife is back in theatres, he kept the search for his wife on.

Bapuji also recalled about how watching Phool Aur Patthar inspired him to gain muscle. He then recalled how Dilip Kumar’s 1948 film Shaheed inspired Dharmendra to become an actor. Among the many Dharmendra movies Bapuji watched were Haqeeqat, Jugnu, Anpadh, Kahani Kismat Ki, Jheel Ke Uss Paar, Hukumat, Aag Hi Aag, and Khatron Ke Khiladi. Tapu then recalled the Gada family watching the Deol family on-screen in Yamla Pagla Deewana.

Bhide tries to be Dharmendra, Sonu tags Madhavi his Hema Malini

Bhide mimicked Dharmendra in front of Madhavi, which is when Sonu entered the scene and called her aai Hema Malini. Bhide declares himself a fan of Dharmendra songs. He recalls watching Dharmendra movies as re-releases in theatres. The list includes Chupke Chupke and Sholay. Bhide reveals that the latter inspired him to buy Sakharam (his scooter).

Roshan Singh Sodhi cannot stop shedding tears while admiring his photo with Dharmendra. On noticing so, his wife panics and brings their son Gogi to calm him down.
