With Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Drishyam 2, Tabu has two sequels in a row. While she was a newbie in the second instalment of the horror-comedy franchise, the actor has been involved with Drishyam (2015) since its inception. Returning to a sequel is soothing for the actor, who shot the latest instalment of the crime thriller in Mumbai.

Tabu told Mid Day that it's amazing to return to a sequel because one is back in the world. They are so familiar with the plot that it feels like an extension of their reality. They shot the film at St. Xavier's, her college.

In the first part, Tabu's cop character Meera was pitted against Ajay Devgn's Vijay Salgaonkar, whom she suspects of murdering her son. Drishyam 2, based on Mohanlal's Malayalam film of the same name from 2021, will see Devgn and Tabu play a cat-and-mouse game as she tries to find flaws in his alibi once more.

The addition of Akshaye Khanna to Abhishek Pathak's directorial debut adds to the excitement. Tabu exclaimed that she was so glad he was on board. The actor is delighted to have him enjoy screen time with him.

She said that Akshaye is a fantastic actor and a delightful person. One can count on the pleasant company and good conversation while they are with him. Tabu's sister Farah worked with Akshaye and his father, Vinod Khanna. Now she is collaborating with him. In Drishyam 2, Ajay and Akshaye play the most essential roles.

Shriya Saran and Ishita Dutta also reprise their roles from Drishyam, which was directed by the late Nishikant Kamat. The film was released in 2015 and was a huge hit in Hindi too.

Drishyam 2, the Jeethu Joseph-directed Malayalam film, was released on Amazon Prime Video in 2021. Since then, the film has been remade in Telugu and Kannada languages as of now. Hindi is the latest to join the bandwagon and is likely to be a theatrical release.
