Ahan Shetty is overwhelmed with the responses he has been receiving for his debut film Tadap, opposite Tara Sutaria. The film of Suniel Shetty's son did well at the box office and was one of the few films that had a successful theatrical run in 2021. The film was well-received and Shetty's performance was appreciated by several in the film fraternity. In an interview with Times of India, the actor spoke about his first call after the film was released. He said he was completely overwhelmed and that he did not expect so much love and appreciation for his debut film. "I remember the day the trailer released, Rakesh Roshan sir was the first person to call and congratulate me. He said I had a bright future ahead and that he was looking forward to seeing my film. That phone call was so special coming from someone who is a legend in our industry,” he said.

At the exclusive screening of the movie, his father Suniel Shetty had said that he feels anxious as a parent and actor about his son's debut. He had hoped that his son gets accepted into the showbiz business. "So far, the trailers and the songs are doing extremely well. People have been showering us with so much love and support," he said adding that he is looking forward to seeing the actor and that he's happy with the film. "But yeah Ahan’s happiness matters the most to me," he had said.

The film, directed by Milan Luthria, also stars Kumud Mishra and Saurabh Shukla, among others in prominent roles. The film is the official remake of the 2018 Telugu film RX100. The thriller is about a couple, madly in love with each other and how their lives take an ugly turn when they decide to disclose their relationship to their respective families.

The film releases on Disney+Hotstar tomorrow, on January 28.
