After a scorching dance number in Ajay Devgn starrer Raid 2 and a casting in No Entry 2 by Anees Bazmee, Tamannaah Bhatia has stacked up another A-lister for 2025.

Tamannaah Bhatia joins Rohit Shetty's film

According to Peeping Moon, Tamannaah has been cast in a major part in Rohit Shetty's forthcoming biographical action film about the life of Rakesh Maria, the former Mumbai Police Commissioner. John Abraham plays the lead part, and the actor plays his wife, Preeti Maria, in this realistic drama.

An insider told the entertainment portal that Preeti has been Rakesh's pillar in the fight against terrorists in the city, taking care of their family and supporting him through some of the most perilous and trying times of his profession. Tamannaah is thrilled and honoured to play the part, adding that her involvement is crucial to his story.

This will be John and Tamannaah's second onscreen collaboration; last year, she had an appearance as his wife in Vedaa by Nikkhil Advani.

Rohit Shetty's first foray into real-life narratives

While Rohit Shetty is most known for his fictitious Cop Universe films, including Singham, Simmba, and Sooryavanshi, this untitled film based on Maria's memoirs, Let Me Say It Now, is a substantial departure for him. In this, Shetty's first attempt at a real-life narrative, he will follow the illustrious officer as he worked for 36 years to solve some of the most sensitive and high-profile crimes in India. Among these are the serial blasts in Mumbai in 1993, the crackdown on the Indian Mujahideen in 2008, the terror attacks on 26/11 in Mumbai, and the murder case involving Sheena Bora.

The filming started on Friday in Mumbai and is anticipated to encompass more than 40 real locations throughout the metropolis. Notable locations include the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, Dongri, and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus. By August, production should have come to a close, and early next year, the film will hit theatres.

Next week, the makers are anticipated to make an official announcement.
