Tamil films in which Nitya Menen absolutely dazzled us with her acting brilliance

Actress Nithya Menen is known for her exceptional acting and exceptionally good looks! This curly-haired, doe-eyed actress has a way of captivating cinemagoers, which explains her superstar repute down South. But some of her work in Tamil films has us and many fans stunned with her striking screen-timing and unconventional roles. Want to know what we are talking about? Have a look at the list below!

Veppam (DisneyPlus Hotstar, YouTube)

Veppam is a crime action film that follows the story of two brothers, Balaji (Muthukumar) and Karthik (Nani). Following their mother’s demise, Balaji, the elder brother, raises Karthik. The latter befriends Revathy (Nithya Menen), their neighbour’s daughter and thus develops a strong bond between them. What happens next is an onset of incidents that symbolise brotherhood, friendship, and betrayal.

O Kadhal Kanmani (Netflix, DisneyPlus Hotstar, ZEE5, ManoramaMax, Lionsgate Play, Vi Movies & TV)

Nithya’s sheer innocence and effortless girl-next-door vibe in O Kadhal Kanmani is one that you mustn’t miss. In this touching romantic comedy, she plays the role of Tara Kalingarayar, a simple girl planning to pursue her studies in Paris. She falls in love with Aditya (Dulquer Salmaan), a videogame developer and decides to move in with him. But despite their aversion toward marriage, they find themselves closer to it.

Iru Mugan (DisneyPlus Hotstar, ZEE5, ManoramaMax, Vi Movies & TV, Google Play Movies, Hungama Play, YouTube)

Iru Mugan is an adrenaline-fueling science fiction film that revolves around a disgraced RAW agent, Akilan (Vikram). He is recalled to hunt down a crazy scientist, Dr Love (also Vikram), under the supervision of Aayushi (Nithya Menen), a junior RAW agent. What unfolds is a game of cat and mouse between the RAW agents and Dr Love – one that will surely keep you on the edge of your seat!

Mersal (Netflix, DisneyPlus Hostar, ZEE5, Vi Movies & TV)

Mersal is an action thriller flick that narrates the story of an Indian doctor, Dr Maaran (Vijay Thalapathy), who returns from Europe to resolve a health threat looming over the country. In doing so, he unveils the mystery of his father’s death. Nithya plays the part of his mother, Aishwarya. Although her role is not as prominent, it is significant to the plot.

Psycho (Netflix, YouTube)

In this psychological thriller, Nithya essays the role of Kamala, a handicapable police officer who helps the protagonist (Udhayanidhi Stalin) catch hold of a dreaded serial killer. This gripping murder mystery has one of Nitya’s career-best performances, in our opinion!

In a still male-dominated film industry, actresses like Nithya make us believe that change is nearer than we think. May she continue to blow us away with her charm and unprecedented performances!
