Popular Tamil writer, author, lyricist and columnist Lalith Anand is no more. He was 47. The writer, who had been receiving treatment at a hospital for an illness for some time now, had breathed his last on Sunday. The poet cum lyricist, who had entered Tamil cinema with Thiru Thiru Thiru Thiru, had also worked on Athe Neram Athe Idam (and was also its dialogue writer), Vadacurry, Anjala and Junga.

Some of his well-known contributions in the industry were for Karthi, Nayanthara-starrer Kaashmora, Vijay Sethupathi's Idharkuthane Aasaippattai Balakumara, Rowthiram, Anbirkiniyal and Maanagaram. Lalith had written and published two books named Oru Elumicham Pazhathin Varalaru and Lemooriyavil Iruntha Kathaliyin Veedu. Several film personalities have conveyed their condolences mourning his demise.

Toshiba, Idhu Yaarin, Oyaa Oyaa, Tea Podu, were among a few songs composed by him. He has also lyricised a number for Simbu a.k.a Silambarasan's next with director Gokul. Born in April, 1974 in Nagalampuram, Tamil Nadu, Lalith Anand completed his bachelor's degree at Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirapalli and made a mark in the industry despite his humble beginnings.
