The show will exclusively release on Amazon Prime Video in the fall of this year

Amazon Studios has greenlighted an unscripted docu-series titled Tampa Baes. The eight-episode Amazon original series will follow a young group of lesbian friends, who reside in Tampa Bay, Florida.
The showrunner of the anticipated show, Melissa Bidwell, said in a statement that working on the series has been an incredible journey and as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, she was thrilled that this type of show can exist in the premium streaming space. Talking about the cast, Melissa said that the cast is truly dynamic, refreshing and unlike any, she has worked with in the past.
She also added that the viewers around the world will be able to relate to the cast in one way or another and she can't wait for the global audience to fall in love with Tampa Baes.
While talking about Tampa Baes, the Co-Head of Television at Amazon Studios, Vernon Sanders said in a statement that the series is fun. He added, “In a world where there’s a dearth of content centring dynamic lesbian, Amazon Studios is excited to bring this vibrant look at these women’s lives and give the world a real entry point to undoubtedly know and love them.”
The docu-series will release in the fall of this year. The upcoming show features a huge cast of Ali Myers, Shiva Pishdad, Jordan Whitley, Marissa Gialousis among others. Before releasing to the world, Tampa Baes will exclusively drop in the US, India, Australia as well as UK, Canada, Ireland and New Zealand.
