For the majority of Tanaav, Manav Vij has been seen in the role of office Kabir Farooqui. He is a man with short temper who does not care about following orders. While his methods worked so far, there was a switch in him, which caused Kabir to change his identity altogether. Here's what Tanaav 2 (available for streaming on SonyLIV via OTTplay Premium) ending could mean...
From a short-tempered officer, Kabir Farooqui has now changed his identity. He is a boxer named Ashfaq too determined with the sport.
When we were introduced to Tanaav, Kabir already sought retirement. He thought that Umar Riaz was dead and that was supposed to be his last mission. When he found out that Umar is alive, Kabir had to get back on the field.
A chain of events set off after Maulana Mir saab was killed during the cross-fire. His son Fareed Mir sought revenge, which made up for the second season. Now with Umar and Fareed both dead, Kabir could look for a different approach in life. In fact, Rajat Kapoor’s Jagjit Malik offered him to do so and from the looks of it, one year later, Kabir turned Ashfaq the boxer.
The first reason would be that Kabir's son is also into sports. The second and more important reason is that Kabir lost love right after finding it. His father Haider Farooqui (Kabir Bedi) as well as lover Dr. Farah (Ekta Kaul) were both killed by Fareed Mir. The pain would obviously remain and what better way to take out the frustration than choose a sport like boxing? This way, he stays away from his life as an officer but also not too far away. The very end is the perfect example of that – Kabir does not respond to Ashfaq, but on realizing that is his identity, he is ready to meet the person looking for him (which is probably the next mission awaiting).
