Actor Tanushree Dutta was who helped the #MeToo movement gather momentum in the Indian film industry, after she accused actor Nana Patekar of sexual harassment. Tanushree has now taken to social media to share a harrowing post.

The actor took to Instagram earlier today to write, “If anything ever happens to me let it be known that #metoo accused Nana Patekar, his lawyers & associates & his Bollywood Mafia friends are responsible! Who are Bollywood Mafia?? Same people all whose names came up frequently in SSR death case. ( note that all have same criminal lawyer).”

The actor also asked her fans to not watch their movies and boycott them and to also go for all the people in the industry and journalists who made fake news about her and was behind the “vicious smear campaigns”. She added that they have harassed her and that she has faith in the people while law and justice may have failed her.

The actor also told Hindustan Times that she has been trying to resurrect her career after returning to India, and while people are interested in working with her and even sign some projects with her, they end up failing to materialise.

The actor also added that she has been in the country since 2020 and that she has lost count of the number of times it has happened to her. “ I have lost count how many times this has happened to me,” she told Hindustan Times. She further added that people avoid her as they do not want to offend the more powerful people and thus end up not giving her a chance.

Tanushree, who was the winner of the Femina Miss India Universe title in 2004, has appeared in over 10 Hindi movies in her career.
