The trailer for Tanvi The Great has been unveiled on Monday, helmed by veteran actor and filmmaker Anupam Kher. The film is set to hit theatres on July 18, 2025, after receiving rave reviews at festivals including Cannes, New York Indian Film Festival, London, and Houston.
In the trailer, we meet Tanvi, an autistic kid who is "different but no less." Tanvi The Great seems to be a character-driven drama that wrestles with themes of identity, inclusiveness, and the pursuit of ambitions, all while presenting itself as a story of resilience, fortitude, and tenacity. The filmmakers claim that the film centres on Tanvi, a young woman who encounters both internal and external obstacles in pursuit of her dream of joining the Indian Army.
Kher said in a statement that everyone who watches Tanvi The Great will leave the film with a better attitude and maybe even a new perspective. The actor-filmmaker shared that, for all the people who are unique yet equally valuable, this film is his homage. An autistic teenager with extraordinary intelligence and unwavering resolve pursues her dream of serving in the Indian Army. Kher believes Indian audiences will connect with this film as deeply as global viewers have. It is one of the most important films of his career.

Shubhangi, who plays the lead character, makes her film debut. Anupam Kher, together with Jackie Shroff, Arvind Swami, Boman Irani, Pallavi Joshi, Karan Tacker, Nasser, and Game of Thrones actor Iain Glen, make up the ensemble cast behind her.
An enthralling score by Oscar-winner M. M. Keeravani, best known worldwide for his work in RRR, is hinted at in the trailer as well. Excel Entertainment (Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar), AA Films (Anil Thadani), and Anupam Kher Studios (in partnership with the National Film Development Corporation of India, or NFDC) will be in charge of the film's international distribution.
A socially conscious play with a powerful emotional core and a concept of empowerment, Tanvi The Great aspires to resonate with audiences worldwide, not only in India. On July 18, 2025, theatres will hit the screen.
