On the occasion of Independence Day, John Abraham posted a poster for his next movie, Tariq, to his social media pages. The Desi Boyz star surprised fans by announcing a new film on his Instagram page.
John shared the poster and captioned it as, "Aazadi ki Tariq, 15 August, 2023. Tariq is our next creative collaboration with Bake My Cake Films after Tehran and Batla House. Time to celebrate the freedom to tell good stories. #AzadiKaAmritMahotsav. Directed by #ArunGopalan, Produced by @thejohnabraham, @sandeep_leyzell and @shobhnayadav. This is John's third collaboration with Bake My Cake Films, following Tehran and Batla House. In Tariq, directed by Arun Gopalan, he will play the lead role. The actor, together with Shobhna Yadav and Sandeep Leyzell, is also the film's producer. Ritesh Shah and Lalit Marathe wrote Tariq.
The movie is expected to premiere on August 15, 2023.

The movie, which debuted on July 29, is a follow-up to Sidharth Malhotra, Shraddha Kapoor, and Riteish Deshmukh's 2014 success, Ek Villain. In addition, he will co-star with Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone in Sidharth Anand's upcoming film Pathaan, which is scheduled to be released on January 25, 2023.
