The upcoming biopic Tarla, starring Huma Qureshi, is based on the life of Michelin-starred chef Tarla Dalal and will have a direct OTT release. Ronnie Screwvala, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, and Nitesh Tiwari produced the film, which Piyush Gupta directed. The premiere of the film will be on ZEE5. The release date is tentative at this time.

Rumour has it that Huma Qureshi has spared no effort in her attempt to channel home cook Tarla Dalal. The actress reportedly spent hours getting used to speaking with dentures in order to improve her performance. To perfect her tone and delivery, Huma watched several videos of Dalal.

In a statement, Huma said that Tarla Dalal's journey has undoubtedly left an imprint on her soul, as she has heard it said that every character you play as an actor leaves an impression on their soul. The actor has a very soft spot in her heart for it. As she wrapped the film, the actor could not help but think of the quiet strength, love, humour, and empathy Tarla had.

A massive slate of titles, including originals in Hindi and regional languages, sequels to cult-favorite series, big-ticket direct-to-digital releases, blockbuster post-theatrical launches, and intriguing docu-series, were announced by the OTT platform Zee5 on Friday at a star-studded event in Mumbai called "Hooked to 5".
