Teaser trailer of House of the Dragon, Game of Thrones prequel set at HBO Max, released

HBO Max has unveiled a brief teaser trailer from its upcoming Game of Thrones prequel, House of the Dragon. 

"Gods, kings, fire, and blood. Dreams didn't make us kings — dragons did," says Matt Smith, who plays Prince Daemon Targaryen, in a voiceover. The clip features a montage of fight sequences, new characters, and the opulent medieval-styles setting, but without revealing much about the plot. 

House of the Dragon is set 200 years before "the fall of the throne," and will focus on the story of the Targaryen family, and a civil war that came to be known as the "Dance of the Dragons." 

The ten-episode series, which was announced in 2019, is based on George RR Martin's book Fire & Blood, House of the Dragon.

Besides Smith, the cast also includes Paddy Considine (as King Viserys Targaryen), Olivia Cooke (as Alicent Hightower), Emma D’Arcy (Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen), Steve Toussaint (Lord Corlys Velaryon aka “The Sea Snake"), Rhys Ifans (Otto Hightower), Eve Best (Princess Rhaenys Velaryon), Sonoya Mizuno (Mysaria), Fabien Frankel (Ser Criston Cole), Milly Alcock (young Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen), and Emily Carey (young Alicent Hightower).

Others in the cast are Ryan Corr, Jefferson Hall, David Horovitch, Graham McTavish, Matthew Needham, Bill Paterson, and Gavin Spokes.

Ryan Condal and Miguel Sapochnik are the co-showrunners of the show is currently in production. They are executive producing alongside Martin, Vince Gerardis, Sara Lee Hess and Ron Schmidt. Clare Kilner and Geeta V Patel are also attached as directors.

The score of House of the Dragon is composed by Ramin Djawadi. 

House of the Dragon debuts on HBO Max sometime in 2022. There is no update on it's India premiere yet.
