Telugu filmmakers have always had firm political views about the pros and cons of naxalite movement over the years - Drohi, Kubusam, Virodhi being the notable examples over the years. Looks like the subject has earned the fascination of storytellers of the current generation as well, going by what one has witnessed in Acharya, Virata Parvam and Kondaa recently. Now, there's another addition to this ever-growing list - P Suneel Kumar Reddy's next titled Maa Nanna Naxalite.

P Suneel Kumar Reddy, who has constantly taken pride in helming films based on hard-hitting social issues, delives into the naxalite movement with Maa Nanna Naxalite, headlined by musician-cum-actor Raghu Kunche. Bankrolled by Bicchagadu-fame producer Chadalavada Srinivasa Rao under Anuradha Films Division and presented by Chadalavada Brothers, Maa Nanna Naxalite has wrapped up shoot and CBFC formalities and is gearing up for a theatrical release on July 8.

The film is based on the naxalite movement in the 90s in which Raghu Kunche plays the role of Kondarudra Seetharamayya. Ajay will be seen as a cop while Subbaraju is cast as a politician. LB Sriram essays the part of a journalist with Krishna Burugula and Rekha Nirosha paired as an on-screen couple. Praveen Immadi has scored the music for the film. Maa Nanna Naxalite has all the ingredients to please the classes and masses, say the makers.

"The performances and contributions from the technical team will impress viewers. The father-son sentiment will strike a chord with them and I'm confident of the film's success. Raghu Kunche has excelled in his role as a naxal leader who has boundless love for his soon; the film shows the selflessness of a father. Dragon Prakash's fight sequences have shaped up well and he also makes a special appearance in the film," says producer Chadalavada Srinivasa Rao.

S V Siva Ram has cinematographed the film that also stars Vinay Mahadev, Anil, FM Babi, Samudram Venkatesh, Bugatha Satyanarayana, Ankoji Rao and Kasi Viswanath.
