One of the most awaited multistarrers of the year, the Telugu remake of the Malayalam hit Ayyappanum Koshiyum, starring Pawan Kalyan, Rana Daggubati, Aishwarya Rajesh and Nithya Menen in the lead roles, has resumed shoot this Monday. The film, helmed by Saagar K Chandra and produced under Sithara Entertainments, has dialogues by noted filmmaker Trivikram and commenced its shoot initially in January 2021. Though the makers intended to wrap up the talkie shoot in a limited span, the pandemic took its toll and the schedule went haywire.

The makers, announcing the resumption of the shoot amidst strict safety regulations on Monday, offered a sneak-peek into Pawan Kalyan's cop avatar in the film. Introducing him as Bheemla Nayak, the team had shared a still from the film sets with a sideway glimpse of the star's character, reminding many of his fans about his Gabbar Singh act. The caption grandly announced, '#Bheemla Nayak back on duty'. Gabbar Singh, the Telugu remake of Dabanng, was a blockbuster that had Pawan Kalyan play the title character, a badass cop with an uncanny sense of humour.

Meanwhile, the role of Bheemla Nayak, played by Pawan Kalyan in the Ayyappanum Koshiyum remake, is a reworking of the original character SI Ayyappan Nair, essayed by Biju Menon. Rana Daggubati is cast as his nemesis-equivalent in the film. S Thaman, who has bagged some of the biggest Telugu projects this year, scores the music for which Navin Nooli is working as an editor. Though there have been several speculations surrounding the title, there has been no official confirmation from the team yet.

Pawan Kalyan is simultaneously working on the historical drama Harihara Veeramallu with Krrish and will commence shooting for Harish Shankar's only after his current commitments are fulfilled. Rana Daggubati's next, Virata Parvam, directed by Venu Udugula, also starring Sai Pallavi, Naveen Chandra and Priyamani, is rumoured to hit Netflix shortly.
