Test, the 2025 Tamil film starring actors Madhavan, Nayanthara and Siddharth in the leading roles, is now available for streaming on Netflix. The streaming giant’s first Tamil original this year, Test is written and directed by S Sashikanth, who has backed many films under his YNOT Studios.

Actors Madhavan, Nayanthara and Siddharth have come together for the 2025 Tamil film Test, which has premiered on Netflix. You can watch the film on the streaming giant in five languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi.
Test is a direct-to-OTT release, with Netflix grabbing the rights of the star-studded emotional sports drama. In the film, Siddharth plays Arjun, a seasoned batsman who is grappling to make a comeback, while Nayanthara plays Kumudha, a teacher who is yearning to have a child. Madhavan plays Kumudha’s husband and scientist Saravanan, and Meera Jasmine essays the role of Padma, Arjun’s wife. It is to be noted that Test is the first Tamil original from Netflix in 2025.
The film is written and directed by Sashikanth, who has made various critically acclaimed films like Mandela, Vikram Vedha and Kaaviya Thalaivan. He makes his directorial debut with Test. Meanwhile, popular singer Shakthisree Gopalan debuted as a composer with the film. Actors Kaali Venkat, Nassar and Vinay Varma also appear in Test. Viraj Singh Gohil is the cinematographer, and TS Suresh is the editor.
What else to watch on Netflix in Tamil?
Netflix is also acquiring the post-theatrical streaming rights of 2025 Tamil films, like Dragon and Vidaamuyarchi. The latest includes Perusu, an adult comedy drama which is set to premiere on the streaming platform on April 11. Besides this, Netflix has also bagged the upcoming Ajith Kumar film Good Bad Ugly’s rights and will stream it after its theatrical run, along with Suriya’s romantic actioner Retro and the much-anticipated Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan’s Thug Life.
