Thaai Kizhavi, the recently released Tamil rural comedy drama has been winning hearts and cash registrars alike. While the Radikaa Sarathkumar-starrer has been lauded by critics and audience alike, the film also minting good numbers at the box office as well. The latest worldwide collection stands at Rs 28.75 crore within a week.

Thaai Kizhavi is a rural comedy drama which features Radikaa Sarathkumar in the lead role. Backed by actor Sivakarthikeyan and directed by debutant Sivakumar Murugesan, Thaai Kizhavi is currently running in theatres and has been received well.

As per Sacnilk records, Thaai Kizhavi has made Rs 28.75 crore worldwide in less than a week, precisely in five days, with India's gross collection standing at RS 22.75 crore. The Radikaa-starrer has already surpassed the life-time collection of Karthi's Vaa Vaathiyaar which made a meagre Rs 11 crore totally in its lifetime. Thaai Kizhavi had faced a dip on Monday after having a fabulous weekend outing, but has been steady in making over Rs 2 crore on Monday and Tuesday.

Thaai Kizhavi is set somewhere in a village in Madurai and revolves around a matriarch called Pavunthaayi who lives by lending loans. With her three sons not wanting to do anything with her, Pavunthaayi lives with her daughter who is separated from her husband. But when Pavunthaayi gets bed-ridden, her sons come back only to learn the whereabouts of a treasure that only she knows.
