Thaai Kizhavi, the recently released Tamil film which has been having a good run at the box office, enjoyed a good word of mouth too. While the film has been showing no signs of stopping and became the second highest grosser in Tamil so far, Thaai Kizhavi is expected to stream sometime soon this month on OTT. Tentatively, JioHotstar which bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights of the film, is likely to premiere end of March.
Thaai Kizhavi OTT release: When and where the rural comedy drama likely to stream?
Thaai Kizhavi, the 2026 Tamil film starring Radikaa Sarathkumar in the lead role, is currently running in theatres, crossing the Rs 50-crore mark at the box office. Backed by Sivakarthikeyan, Thaai Kizhavi is the second highest grossing Tamil film this year so far, trailing behind Sivakarthikeyan-starrer Parasakthi.
It is likely that Thaai Kizhavi will release on OTT sometime end of March. We had earlier reported that JioHotstar has bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights of the film. Tentatively, the platform is expected to debut Thaai Kizhavi on March 26. An official announcement regarding the film’s streaming date has not yet been made.
What is Thaai Kizhavi about?
Thaai Kizhavi is a rural comedy drama directed by Sivakumar Murugesan in his directorial debut. The film revolves around an elderly woman Pavunthaayi who is boisterous and lives by lending loans to villagers. However, when she gets bed-ridden, her three sons come running to her only to know the whereabouts the treasure she has kept hidden all these years.
With Radikaa Sarathkumar playing the lead, the cast also includes actors Singam Puli, Arul Doss, Bala Saravanan, Munishkanth, Ilavarasu, George Maryan, Muthukumar, Raichal Rabecca and others in supporting characters. Nivas K Prasanna has composed music for the film.
After Thaai Kizhavi, Sivakumar Murugesan will be joining hands with Sivakarthikeyan for the upcoming rural action drama Seyon, produced by Kamal Haasan.
