A new film is in the making. Actor Sivakarthikeyan, who is known for backing films like Kanaa and Kottukkaali, has announced a new film under his banner. Titled Thaai Kizhavi, the film is headlined by actor Radikaa Sarathkumar. A teaser was also released along with the release date announcement, and other details.

Thaai Kizhavi is an upcoming Tamil film, which has released its teaser on social media on Wednesday. Actor Sivakarthikeyan is backing the film under his home banner and Radikaa Sarathkumar, most recently seen in Revolver Rita, will be headlining the film.
The teaser of Thaai Kizhavi is wacky, dramatic, and humourous, as we are introduced to a slightly elderly woman who the village is a little bit wary of. Pavunthayi is what she is called, and the villagers are seemingly scared of her, thanks to her attitude and the way she carries herself around. Radikaa plays a brave, funny, and extroverted woman who is shrewd when coming to taking back her hand loans. The actor also appears to have worked on her physical body language, and plays a character loathed by all who wish her death. The teaser ends on the note what looks like her lying dead, with the villagers gathered around her who is doubting if she could pass away that soon.

Thaai Kizhavi is set to release in theatres on February 20, 2026. Apart from Radikaa Sarathkumar, the film’s cast also includes Singam Puli, Arul Doss, Bala Saravanan, Munishkanth, Ilavarasu, George Maryan, Muthukumar, Raichal Rabecca and others in supporting roles.
Directed by Sivakumar Murugesan in his directorial debut, the music is composed by Nivas K Prasanna. The editor is San Lokesh and Vivek Vijayakumar has cranked the camera. JioHotstar has bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights of Thaai Kizhavi, which will also be on OTTplay Premium after its theatrical run.
