Thaai Kizhavi, the 2026 Tamil film featuring Radikaa Sarathkumar in the lead role, and produced by Sivakarthikeyan, is running in theatres successfully. The film is a rural comedy drama that is directed by debutant Sivakumar Murugesan. Recently, the makers released a deleted scene from the film which trolls Vijay Sethupathi.
Thaai Kizhavi: What is the deleted scene about?
The makers of Thaai Kizhavi released a deleted scene from the film on social media on Saturday. Though the scene appears in one of the crucial moments of the film and can be considered as a tearjerker, it ends on a rather hilarious note, at the expense of actor Vijay Sethupathi.
For those who don’t know the story of Thaai Kizhavi, it is about an elderly woman Pavunthaayi who suddenly gets bed-ridden. Her three sons who had ignored her all the while come running to treat her, only to know the whereabouts of a treasure.
In the deleted scene, the siblings are seen consoling each other, as the characters played by Bala Saravanan and Aruldoss (two of the three brothers) recount how their mother raised them single-handedly. While the scene becomes emotional, they see their elder brother (played by Singampuli) crying in corner. Assuming that he too feels for their mother, the brothers consol him, only for the elder brother to reveal that he is heartbroken that the makers of reality show Bigg Boss Tamil have changed the host from Kamal Haasan to Vijay Sethupathi. He also says that the latter cannot match up to Kamal Haasan. For the unversed, Singampuli’s character in the film is an ardent Kamal Haasan fan whose reference is abundant in Thaai Kizhavi.
When will Thaai Kizhavi come on OTT?
Thaai Kizhavi’s OTT rights have been bagged by JioHotstar and is expected to stream sometime in end of March. The rural comedy drama is currently the second highest grossing Tamil films this year, and opened to good reviews.
