Thalaivan Thalaivii: Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen play a bickering couple who are better off separated

Thalaivan Thalaivii is an upcoming Tamil film featuring actors Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen in the lead roles. The film is directed by Pandiraaj and is set to release in theatres on July 25. The makers of the film unveiled the trailer of Thalaivan Thalaivii on social media.

Actors Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen, who previously shared screen space in Malayalam film 19(1)(a), will be making their first Tamil film collaboration with Thalaivan Thalaivii. The film is touted to be a ‘rugged love story’. The trailer of the film just dropped on Thursday. The film is helmed by Pandiraaj, known for films like Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga, Namma Veettu Pillai and Marina. His last film to release was the 2022 Suriya-starrer Etharkkum Thunindhavan.

The trailer begins with the couple played by Nithya Menen and Vijay Sethupathi, who seem to be a loving couple until one moment when they are gathered in front of the village elderly asking to separate them. The trailer rewinds back to showing Vijay Sethupathi playing a cook as he sees Nithya Menen. We soon see the couple bickering and fighting during their marital life, as both partners are visibly irritated by the other. The family entertainer appears to be dramatic, emotional, romantic, and humorous at the same time.

The cast of Thalaivan Thalaivii also includes Yogi Babu, Mynaa Nandhini, Saravanan, Kaali Venkat, Deepa, Roshini Haripriyan and others. Produced by Sendhil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan under Sathya Jyothi Films, the film is slated for a theatrical release on July 25. The technical crew includes music by Santhosh Narayanan and M. Sukumar cranking the camera. Pradeep E Ragav is the editor. An OTT partner of the film is yet to be announced.
