Thalaivar 170: Rana Daggubati is the latest actor to join Rajinikanth's film

Here's some exciting news from the team of Thalaivar 170, Rajinikanth's next project. After Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, and Dushara Vijayan, the makers have confirmed that Rana Daggubati is the most recent addition to the star cast of Thalaivar 170.

The film's production house, Lyca Productions, took to its official X handle to announce this. Their tweet read, “Welcoming the dapper & supercool talent 😎 Mr. Rana Daggubati ✨ on board for #Thalaivar170 #Thalaivar170Team has gotten even more charismatic 🌟 with the addition of the dashing @RanaDaggubati” (sic)

Thalaivar 170 's cast announcements

Over the past two days, the makers have been announcing the cast and crew members. Ritika took to Instagram to share an emotional note over the exciting news. She posted, “Damn! I’m not even able to see through my tears right now. An opportunity to share the screen with Rajni Sir and the entire stellar cast and crew of #Thalaivar170 is straight out of my dreams and I’m immensely grateful for this opportunity!"

She added, "What a moment!!!! To all of you, who stood by me and believed in me since my debut, I just wanna say thank you so so much! Your belief in me has always inspired me to keep putting in the work, no matter how challenging the journey gets. A big thank you to my fan clubs for always having my back :’) So happy to finally share this news with you all. It’s time to celebrate.”

Anirudh Ravichander is the music composer of the film that is slated to go on floors in Thiruvananthapuram soon. The film is helmed by Jai Bhim director TJ Gnanavel and is expected to be released in theatres on Pongal 2024.

Speculated star cast

There were unconfirmed reports of Telugu star Nani also being a part of the star cast of Thalaivar 170. Fans are eager for the long-awaited reunion of Amitabh Bachchan and Rajnikanth in this film, which will mark over 30 years since they last shared the screen together in Hindi films like Andha Kanoon, Geraftaar, and Hum. However, there has been no official announcement from Lyca Productions yet about the rumoured cast additions.

Rana Daggubati's upcoming projects

Rana is currently gearing up for an Amar Chitra Katha-inspired project , titled Hiranyakashyap, which is written by Trivikram Srinivas. The actor-producer is also part of the eagerly-awaited science fiction fantasy film, Nag Ashwin's Kalki 2898 AD, which also stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan in important roles.

Thalaivar 171 announced

After the Thalaivar170, it has been officially announced that Rajinikanth will be back with another project. Tentatively titled Thalaivar171, it will be directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.
