Lokesh Kanagaraj, who is gearing up to kickstart the shoot of Thalaivar 171, is all set to make some announcements soon. Even as we await the updates, the latest buzz surrounding the Rajinikanth-starrer is that the film has roped in a new dialogue writer. According to sources, the makers have roped in Chandra to pen the dialogues for the film instead of Rathna Kumar, who was earlier reported to be the dialogue writer for the film.

Interestingly, Chandra had earlier collaborated with director Lokesh Kanagaraj to write the dialogues for his debut directorial Maanagaram. An official confirmation from the team regarding the latest speculation is awaited.

Rathna Kumar opts out due to THIS reason?

Writer Rathna Kumar, a frequent collaborator of Lokesh Kanagaraj, opted out of Thalaivar 171 reportedly due to his busy schedule and commitments with other directors. However, the rumour mills stated that the writer was ousted from the project after his controversial remarks, poking fun at Rajinikanth, during Vijay-starrer Leo success event.

For the unversed, the writer said that 'no matter how high you fly, when you are hungry, you will have to fly down’, referring to Rajinikanth’s speech at the Jailer audio launch. Fans of both Vijay and Rajinikanth indulged in Twitter war for quite some time, and the writer had to announce his ‘break’ from social media until his next project announcement.

Now, it is speculated that Rathna Kumar has been replaced by Chandra over this particular issue, with fans intrigued to know more about the new collaboration.

Lokesh Kanagaraj, who took a three-month break to write the script for Thalaivar 171, is gearing up to announce new updates soon. According to reports, the film is expected to commence shooting in June.

Rajinikanth to play negative role in Thalaivar 171?

Touted to be an experimental fantasy film, the movie is speculated to have Rajinikanth in a full-fledged negative role after a very long gap. Earlier in an interview, director Lokesh Kanagaraj hinted that he always enjoyed the superstar’s negative avatars, which he played during the initial days of his acting career. Sources close to Thalaivar 171 revealed that the Vettaiyan actor is in fact playing the lead antagonist in the Lokesh directorial.
