Kangana Ranaut and her Thalaivii co-star Arvind Swami are all set to appear on the popular comedy show, The Kapil Sharma Show. The two, who are caught up in the promotions of their much-awaited film, will shoot for the upcoming episode in Filmcity soon.
The National Award-winning actress will essay the role of former Tamil Nadu chief minister, late J Jayalalithaa, who also had a prolific career as an actress. Kangana's co-star and famous actor Arvind Swami, who has acted in various Telugu and Malayalam films, will essay the role of M.G. Ramchandran in the multilingual biopic.
Kangana has already graced the show in the previous seasons. She promoted her films on the reality show. Now, as she is all set to go back to the show with the Roja actor, audiences can expect double the fun.
The 34-year-old actress, who has been in the news for various reasons, recently made headlines for requesting the Maharashtra government to open theatres. If theatres do open, Kangana can release of her film on September 10 in Mumbai too.
The Queen actress had written to the government to open theatres in the state to ‘save the dying film industry and theatres business.’ She cited a drop in the COVID-19 cases as the rationale.
On September 6, Kangana took to Instagram after a screening of Thalaivii and lauded the film as one of the ‘best films of her career’. She adding that it has been a ‘fulfilling’ experience and that she hopes Hindi multiplexes will run the film too. “I am confident that it will bring audiences back to theatres,” she wrote in the post.
Sharing a video, Kangana wrote that the makers of her film had turned down many offers from streaming platforms as they were single-mindedly looking at a theatrical release.
Meanwhile, the new season of the Kapil Sharma Show is back in action. The latest episode featured Shershaah actors Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani, who visited the sets with director Vishnu Vardhan to celebrate the success of their film. Popular comedian and host of the show Kapil Sharma welcomed them with open arms. Kangana and Aravind are next in line.
