Thalapathy 65: First poster of Vijay, Pooja Hegde movie to be revealed ahead of his birthday

Fans of Tamil superstar Vijay have already begun celebrations for the actor’s birthday on June 22. They are also awaiting the first look poster of the actor’s next film, which is tentatively titled #Thalapathy65.

The producers of the movie, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, had on Sunday announced that its first-look poster will drop online at 6pm on June 21. The teaser video was also packed with guns and bullets, hinting that the movie will be an action thriller.

The shoot of the film had begun in Georgia in April. Apart from Vijay, the movie has Pooja Hegde as the lead actress. Malayalam actors Shine Tom Chacko and Aparna Das, along with Yogi Babu and VTV Ganesh are also part of the cast.

Nelson had previously directed Nayanthara’s Kolamavu Kokila and Sivakarthikeyan’s Doctor, which is reportedly heading for a direct-to-OTT release. Music director Anirudh Ravichander had apparently suggested his name to Vijay, when the superstar was looking for his next script after Master.

The first schedule of the upcoming film wrapped up last month and the second schedule was supposed to begin in May but got pushed due to the COVID-19 restrictions.

Earlier this year, Vijay’s Master was among the first Tamil films to hit theatres after the lockdown. The movie, which was a commercial success, also got an OTT release a few weeks after it hit theatres. Master, which was directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and had Vijay Sethupathi as the antagonist, is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
