If the buzz is to be believed, Arvind Swami is likely to be on board for Thalapathy Vijay's next, which is tentatively being referred to as Thalapathy 68. The actor is said to be playing a crucial role in the film, which is helmed by Venkat Prabhu.
Arvind Swami joins forces with Vijay
If Arvind Swami indeed gets on board, this will be the first time he will be teaming up with Vijay. Ever since he made a comeback with Mohan Raja's Thani Oruvan (2015), in which he played the suave villain, Siddharth Abhimanyu, the actor has been much in demand for antagonist roles. His role in Jayam Ravi's Bogan was much appreciated as well. Thalapathy 68 will mark his second film with director Venkat Prabhu, after their last outing Custody. However, Custody, which starred Naga Chaitanya in the lead, opened to mixed reviews.
Arvind Swami has a slew of pending films
Sathuranga Vettai 2, Naragasooran and Kallapart, which stars Arvind Swami have been lying in the cans for a while now. And as now, there are no updates on these films either. Hence, fans of the actor are eagerly looking forward to Thalapathy 68, in which he is said to be playing a power-packed role.
Pre-production work in full swing
In the meantime, the team of Thalapathy 68 is currently in Hollywood's leading visual effects studio Lola VFX in Los Angeles, where they are said to be exploring the deaging technology.
The film's director Venkat Prabhu dropped pictures from the studio and captioned it, "Welcome to the future!!! #Thalapathy68 @actorvijay @archanakalpathi (sic)." He also dropped a picture of Thalapathy from the studio. Speculations are rife that Vijay will be seen in a dual role and hence, one of the technology will be used on one of the characters.
While Yuvan Shankar Raja will score the music for the film, marking his second collaboration after Puthiya Geethai, Thalapathy 68 will be bankrolled by AGS Entertainment.
